Penta Career Center’s Phlebotomy Program prepares students for a career in healthcare by providing practical training in blood collection, patient safety, and professional laboratory procedures. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), opening doors to work in hospitals, clinics, labs, and other healthcare settings. 

This program emphasizes safety, quality assurance, and proper laboratory protocols, ensuring students gain both confidence and competence in real-world healthcare environments.

Program Schedule
100 hours
Two nights per week | 5:00–8:00 p.m.

Class Cohorts:

• August – December
• January – May

Program Highlights

 Safe and effective blood collection techniques (venipuncture and capillary draws)

• Patient safety, infection control, and adherence to universal precautions
• Quality assurance and laboratory best practices
• Professional communication and patient interaction
• CPR/AED training from the American Heart Association

Career Preparation & Certification

Upon successful completion of the Phlebotomy Program, students are eligible to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). After passing the exam, graduates earn their CPT credential, officially qualifying them to work as professional phlebotomy technicians in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and other healthcare settings.

In addition, students receive CPR/AED certification through the American Heart Association, ensuring they are fully prepared for patient care and workplace safety.

Enrollment Requirements

To enroll, students must:

• Complete online registration and submit the $100 non-refundable registration fee (applied toward tuition)
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Provide an unexpired Driver’s License or State ID
• Submit proof of high school completion (High School Diploma, official transcript, or HSE/GED transcript)

• Complete all required enrollment documents in the student portal
• Pass an FBI/BCI background check
•  A criminal record (e.g., felony conviction) can make a student ineligible for licensing or employment in the healthcare field.

Tuition & Payment Options

• Tuition must be paid in full before the class starts.

Important Note: This program is not eligible for financial aid. Students must secure all funding before enrolling.

Program Expectations

• Students must provide their own scrubs (plain black top and black pants) to be worn daily for class and lab
• Shoes must be solid black with rubber soles
• Adherence to all safety, dress code, and attendance policies is required
• Students must complete all required hours, coursework, clinical & exam requirements
• 30 successful venipunctures
• 10 successful capillary collections

Career Preparation

Graduates of the Phlebotomy Program are prepared to:

• Work as Certified Phlebotomy Technicians (CPT) in hospitals, clinics, and labs
• Apply professional standards in patient care, infection control, and lab procedures
